Fireworks, for me, is much more than your standard ‘Dance School’, to me, it is home, it is family, and it is somewhere I can grow and develop at my own pace. When I started here a year and a half ago, I wasn’t expecting to enter into such an open, friendly, and creatively stimulating organisation. Through Fireworks, not only have I developed as a dancer and performer, but as a well-rounded person. I’ve gained countless friends, and have wonderful memories that I will never forget.

Fireworks is, of course, a school made to teach the performing arts, which it does flawlessly. At Fireworks, I study Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and Tap, and I have also taken courses in Musical Theatre, and Acting Through Song, as well as countless workshops in areas such as Contemporary Dance, Physical Theatre, Lindy-Hop, and so much more. So, I can’t begin to say how Fireworks has facilitated my growth as a performer in areas I would never have thought about. Because of everything I have learned here, I was given my first professional job as a dancer, which was an unbelievable experience for me, and a real example of what fireworks can give to it’s pupils.

Dance education is, by and large, extremely expensive, and Fireworks have always aimed to keep a low and equal cost for it’s classes, so no matter what your financial background, the education is available to whoever wants it. Fireworks also offers scholarships across all dance styles for dedicated pupils, letting them explore other areas of dance. For example, I’ve been awarded a scholarship for Tap, which has opened up a world of opportunity both creatively and professionally.

Fireworks means so much to me, and I know it means just as much to everyone else here; without Fireworks I know I would not be half the person I am today, and I definitely wouldn’t have started to dance. And I know in the future, Fireworks will give the same as it has given to me, to countless other girls and boys, as long as it’s doors are open.
